23.Book of Jubilees
The Book of Jubilees is one of the most important and authoritative of all the books of Scripture. It was found in the Dead Sea Scrolls in many copies. The Book of Jubilees is the key to unlocking the door to the lost books of Enoch and the Patriarchs, because Jubilees is so interconnected with them. The Book of Jubilees is quoted as Scripture by the Messiah in the Gospels and in the letters of Paul as well. The Book of Jubilees is also quoted as Scripture in the Recognitions and Homilies of Clement. It is also quoted as Scripture in 2 Esdras and in the Book of Clement and in the Book of Psalms as found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. The perfect correspondence and unity of Jubilees with so many books of the Dead Sea Scrolls confirms its authenticity and Scriptural status. The Book like the Book of Enoch, is considered Scripture officially by only one Church, that being the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. The Ethiopian Jews also consider it Scripture. The Book was written by Moses on Mount Sinai during the forty days that he was receiving the ten commandments and being taught the Law. In this book of Jubilees, the angels appear to him, like as they did with Abraham, and they teach him the origin of the Law based on the Scriptures. They guide Moses through interpreting correctly the Scriptures. Moses used the Book of Jubilees as his chief inspiration for writing the Book of Genesis. The Book of Jubilees with its link to the Dead Sea Scrolls is key to reconstructing the Genesis Apocryphon and discovering the sources that Moses used for writing the Book of Genesis. Jubilees is thus proof that the Book of Genesis did not originate from a prophecy given to Moses, but rather originated by Moses using other Scriptures and reworking them. The Book of Jubilees is more reliable and more authoritative than the Law of Moses. The Books of the Law of Moses have many errors in them in the copies that are preserved by the scribes outside of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Because of this, whenever there is a contradiction with the Law of Moses, we must accept the Book of Jubilees over the Law of Moses. When we compare the readings of the Book of Jubilees to the copies of the Law of Moses we have in manuscripts, we see that the Book of Jubilees more often than not corresponds with the readings of the Septuagint and the Samaritan Torah against the readings of the Masoretic text. This is a key tool of textual criticism for proving that the LXX and Samaritan versions of the Torah are more reliable and trustworthy than the Masoretic text. The Book of Jubilees is also key for helping reconstruct the Temple Scroll. The Book of Jubilees endorses the following books as Scripture: Abraham's Instruction, 1 Enoch, Book of Lamech, Book of Noah, Book of Abraham, Book of Jacob, Book of Joseph, Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs, Book of Joseph, and Testament of Amram. The fragments of the Book of Jubilees in the Dead Sea Scrolls prove that the Ethiopic copies of the Book of Jubilees are extremely faithful to the original text and are very reliably preserved for us.

Essene Book Of Days

As Orthodox Essenes, we believe that all of the Biblical Apocrypha books are divinely inspired Scripture, and are equal to the authority of the Canonical Books of the Bible. That being said, we believe that the Biblical Apocrypha were always intended by God to be shared secretly rather than publicly, and it is for this reason we consider these books to be Apocrypha Books, and we thus do not include them in the Canonical Bible. Instead, we include them in the Apocryphal Bible. The way we view and receive the two different Bibles is similar to how the Ethiopian Orthodox Church views and receives their two Bible canons, those being the Narrower Canon, and the Broader Canon. We make the same distinction in our Bible Canon: the books of the canonical Bible of the Essenes constitute the Narrower Canon of the Essenes, and the Books of the apocryphal Bible of the Essenes constitute the Broader Canon of the Essenes. To simplify it, we simply refer to the Books of our Narrower Canon as The Canonical Books of the Bible, and we refer to the Books of our Broader Canon as The Apocryphal Books of the Bible. And so, using such language, we can rightly say that we do not consider any of the Apocrypha Books to be part of the Canon, and they should not be included in the Canonical Bible or in the Canon of the Bible. We differ from the other Churches existing today in our enumeration of the Books of the Canon of the Bible and the Books of the Apocrypha of the Bible.
